Career Day is Coming
April 20, 2010!

Currently Recruiting Speakers

We are looking for about 100 professionals to present a wide variety of careers to our students.

Do you enjoy what you do and would you be willing to share your expertise and passion with a small group of interested teenagers? Our students are very eager to learn about potential careers and how they relate to what they are learning in the classroom. Your presentation can also help them select higher education opportunities, summer internships and ideas for volunteer hours.

We're looking for all the people on the attached list, plus almost any other profession you might think of! Click here to see a current list of professionals we're seeking.

Be a part of Northgate High School history by presenting at our first ever Career Day!

Relax! We will provide you with a list of suggested information that you might include in your presentation and a list of the types of questions students might ask. You can see our Presenter Survival Guide" right now for some ideas of what to expect.

Registering to be a presenter is easy. Just fill out the Presenter Registration Form and email, snail mail, or fax it before March 1, 2010.

NOTE: If you have an old version of the free Adobe Reader software, you may not be able to submit your registration form by email. To update your Adobe Reader software to the current version, click on the icon to the left.

Volunteers Needed

We have five areas in which we need volunteers:

  1. Two co-chairs to work on recruitment of speakers and room assignments.
  2. A chair and volunteers on the day of the event to check in the speakers and prior to that day make name tags and folders for the speakers.
  3. A chair and volunteers on April 20th to set up breakfast for the speakers.
  4. A chair and volunteers to work in the parking lot to ensure speakers are parked in the appropriate area
  5. A chair to get information out on a regular basis about the event and to help direct leadership students on signage.

Many volunteer positions require effort prior to the April 20th event, and can be done during the hours that are convenient for you. On the day of the event, volunteer positions will run from about 8 AM to 1 PM with many jobs consisting of much smaller shifts.

To volunteer in any of the above areas, please contact us at career-day@northgatehs-pfc.com
Thank you,

Ann Sussman, Patty Proctor and Lynda Hayes
